Provide and deliver cost effective nursing care and health and safety services to employees, customers, and others with minor injuries and illnesses. Provide emergency care, assist in the preparation of accident reports, and arrange for further care if necessary. Offer health counseling and assess work environments to identify potential health or safety problems. Responsible for providing professional support of employee health programs, company loss-control programs and in-plant medical assistance programs.



  1. Assist injured or ill employees
  2. Maintain the OSHA 300 log
  3. Conduct health related classes and testing, such as Blood Borne Pathogens, Adult CPR, Emergency First Aid, etc.
  4. Act as a resource for health matters and physician reports regarding workplace injuries and illnesses, Worker's Compensation insurance claims, employee medical restrictions and the policies and procedures of Luminex
  5. Provide case management services to employees as needed on chronic and large medical claims and injured workers' claims. Support and coordinate appropriate wellness efforts
  6. Initiate Worker's Compensation claims, maintain files, interact with doctors and medical personnel regarding claims, perform associated recordkeeping and reporting, facilitate and expedite an employee's safe return to work, and follow claims through completion
  7. Assist and administer various aspects of health and safety programs i.e. Hearing Conservation, Personal Protective Equipment, Ergonomics.
  8. Carry out studies and investigations on health and safety related issues, prepare reports, summaries and recommendations on these matters.
  9. Report investigative findings to Luminex personnel as applicable
  10. Perform worksite walk-through assessments to determine employee work processes and potential sources of illness and injury. Develop metrics and methods to define and monitor the health and safety needs of company employees; contribute to the design of health controls and surveillance of actual and potential toxic or hazardous conditions in the work environment
  11. Assist in evaluating the health and safety programs of Luminex and recommend changes in policies, procedures, or programs; assist in evaluating cost-effectiveness of health and safety initiatives
  12. Drive initiatives on health and safety issues e.g. non-smoking, healthy living etc. Improve current administration systems and introduce improved effective methods where needed



  1. Must have current RN or LPN license
  2. Minimum 2 years experience
  3. Knowledge of OSHA requirements, Worker's Compensation, and manufacturing work environments
  4. Working knowledge of computers and commonly used software
